ABOUT US

Company history

Arbi Monograms is the largest embroidery company in the South Island.

Our company caters for local garment manufacturers, large and small companies as well as groups who want their image to have a more public profile.

We're also a one-stop shop: as well as running up-to-date embroidery machinery we also have a huge range of clothing and other items available. These are both imported and sourced locally.

We don't just cater to large corporate clients -- we can monogram smaller orders of anything from four to 12 items. We are also able to produce a one-off example so that you can be sure of what you're getting.

We've completed jobs for schools, clubs and teams, corporate and smaller sized companies, tourism and retailers, and we also work closely with clothing manufactures such as Canterbury of New Zealand, LWR Manufacturing, Kathmandu and fashion designers such as Untouched World, Barbara Lee and Insane NZ for their branding.

Since 1980 we've created all our designs using computers, and our entire catalogue of past projects is stored on a huge database. That means if you had a design from us in the past, we can retrieve and update it.

Why embroider?

A company logo is a brand mark. It is an image that you want others to recognise you by. We have up-to-date computer scanning software, designers and embroidery machinery that can create the most complex logos. We can turn around those rush orders in as little as 24 hours.

Competition in the rag trade is harsh. Many local garment manufacturers have been forced to close or manufacture speciality lines to capture niche markets just to survive. With these closures, and an increase of clothing imports, we felt it wise to situate ourselves in both camps. It's important to know where to get the best product for the client. We have to be sure of the quality and durability of imported products, but it is also important to support local industry and the high quality products they produce.

Gaining a knowledge of garment suppliers through 70 years in the industry, led us to introduce our own range of clothing in the 1980s under the name Personalised Clothing. We felt with our knowledge of the trade we were well placed to provide the right garments and styles -- and, of course, logos -- to our customers.

If you're unsure of what you want, we can work with you throughout the project to advise you of your options and ensure a top end product. After all, do you want to see you company's name on a cheap and nasty shirt that we wouldn't recommend, or a quality shirt that will give you lasting satisfaction?
